Many of our surgeons perform laparoscopic surgery, or minimally-invasive surgery on the abdomen. This technique uses small incisions, each less than 1 inch long, and high-definition video cameras to perform a variety of procedures in the abdomen.
Laparoscopic surgery results in less pain, shorter hospital stay, faster return to work and full activity, and less frequent wound complications than traditional open surgery. As a result, many of these procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis.
Many of the procedures we perform laparoscopically include:
- Nissen Fundoplication
- Hiatal Rernia Repair
- Heller Myotomy
- Colon Resection
- Gastric Bypass
- Sleeve Gastrectomy
- Abdominal & Groin Hernia Repair
- Diagnostic Laparoscopy or Exploratory Surgery
